		<description>As a teacher myself, I have high expectations of other teachers. And yep -- I&#039;ve had that same experience in a class where the instructor (the blogger I idolized) was pretty scarce. It totally bummed me out. In fact, I was so upset, I asked for my money back. Which prompted interaction between me and said instructor. Eventually, it turned out well. I gave feedback, he gave feedback. I think he tried harder to be more present. But ultimately, it&#039;s about setting expectations from the get-go. The sell of the class was &quot;work with me&quot; -- not work with the folks in the forum. And let&#039;s face it, if people don&#039;t set our expectations properly from the beginning, we are bound to move forward with our own (usually very high ones). Lesson learned for my own classes!</description>

I haven&#039;t gotten these two sources yet, but I studied webinars last year until I was brave enough to begin offering my own this year. Handling all the moving parts is a challenge, but webinars are worth it.</description>

		<description>This post is my biggest fear as a course creator and instructor. The one thing teachers need to realize is that e-courses are not passive products where you initially do all the hard work and then reap the rewards.

E-courses are alive and they need to thrive. They need constant attention and engagement to be effective.

As for the Khan Academy, my biggest gripe with them is that they focus on the science subjects mainly. What about Arts? That&#039;s a personal thing of course :) What they really need is a well administered forum with teacher support.

Leave the student to consume the course material on their own but give them a space to ask questions or simply raise their hands for further explanation.</description>

She always gave feedback, often in the form of another question, and encouraged us all to interact online and learn from one another.
