Day 3 Blogworld: Where the teacher became the student

Whew Day 3 was epic.  Incredible even.  From a personal and professional point of view this day was the best.  It was a day of learning from some great, powerful women.

The day started with Jill Foster and Aliza Sherman and the talk Speak Up:  Empowering Women to find their voices.  Both women were so supportive in teaching us how to create our own speaking proposal.  We were given time to craft ideas and test them out in the community. And what I found so empowering was that we all started helping each other.  When Diony from Sole Strivers told us about her talk the entire room got so excited and pumped and couldn’t wait to find out when she was going to pitch the speech.

Then I stayed in the room for Thursday Bram talking about Business Plans for Bloggers.  Thursday did a great job talking us through all the important components of a business plan and why it is so important for all bloggers.  My favourite quote – “Adsense is not a Business Plan”

I also spent time in the exhibitions and loved what I saw from Vanilla forums.  Can’t wait to start using them.

Today I really enjoyed being a student.  I learnt how:

  • To be confident and proud of my skills and passions
  • To connect and encourage others
  • My business is going to move forward

So a week ago I wrote a post “My Blogworld Proposal Got Rejected but I still have plans”.  It was my call to action to myself to make sure I got the most out of the Blogworld as a student and not the teacher.

I think I achieved that, and then some more.
