At six years of age I decided to become a teacher. At 18 I went to university to become a teacher. When I was 22 I started my first job teaching students with learning disabilities at a boy’s school. Now at 36 I teach both online and face to face.
Teaching is my dream job and this is why…. because it matters. This manifesto shows how teaching and learning can be achieved online.

Special Thanks to Jon Woodward from Website Shine for designing my poster and the other colourful buttons on the site.

This is great, Ainslie – we do exactly this in Action Studio. It’s very important to provide a learning space that emphasizes ‘doing’ as a tool for learning – and we include a Mastermind Group element to help our members to teach back to their colleagues what has been working for them. Good to see you providing great advice for anyone hoping to start their own online community/ecourse. I can tell you first hand that when you do them with this kind of structure and spirit, they work.
Hi Natalie,
I can’t wait for your course to reopen. It is on my list (to be published today) or courses to do this year. From the tweets and comments you and Ashley have done a wonderful job and can’t wait to get on the inside and see it for myself.

This is an inspired manifesto! I truly resonate with the idea of needing to, “Be open to transformation.” This is a big one. I believe the more we are able to go with the flow, to accept and create change, the easier it is to learn and be taught by life, others and most of all our heart. My teaching motto is simple, Failure is the mentor to success. What has failure taught you? It’s the answer to this question that really allows for transformation to occur. Thanks for this great post!
All My Best,
Stephey
P.S. The PDF turned out nice! Congrats!
Hi Stephey,
Thanks for the support. Am really happy with the PDF that Jon created.
I love your teaching mentor. If I think of the way I have grown as a teacher it is because of past failures.
Looking forward to learning more from you.
Ainslie
